I’m thrilled to share that I have joined the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) as a Visiting Professor.
In this new role, I’ll be working closely with faculty, students, and partners to advance digital health innovation — spanning education, research, entrepreneurship, and organizational strategy — building on my professional background across these areas.
UFCSPA is truly unique in Brazil as it is the only public federal university wholly dedicated to the health sciences, with deep roots in medical and health education and practice. The UFCSPA is internationally recognized for the strength of its programs, including one of the country’s most respected medicine courses. Its medicine course has been in existence for 65 years and has achieved the highest possible score (5) in the National Medical Training Assessment Examination, conducted by the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
UFCSPA is academically integrated, within a shared campus, with the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Porto Alegre — a historic hospital complex founded in 1803, now with 9 hospitals, and a major reference for clinical care, research, and teaching in Latin America.
Importantly, UFCSPA’s innovation agenda is not confined to academia. It is strategically oriented toward generating impact for both Brazil’s public health system (SUS) and the supplementary private health sector, actively positioning the university within the digital health ecosystem and market — fostering partnerships with healthcare providers, industry, startups, and policymakers to translate knowledge into real-world solutions.
I’m honored to contribute to UFCSPA’s mission at a pivotal time for digital transformation in health — and excited to collaborate with this outstanding community of educators, clinicians, researchers, and innovators to help shape the next chapter of digital transformation in healthcare.
